Sugar River Raceway (SRR) in Brodhead, WI is proud to host our 3rd Annual 'Brodhead Historics' Vintage Kart Event July 31st through August 2nd, 2008. Our inaugural event was a great success and great fun. Karters from all over the country (and Canada and Mexico) used pre 1976 karts and engines to compete. 55 class entrants took to the track in 2006. In 2007 65 vintage karters took part in on track activities. We also hosted a Vintage Kart Show and Judging on Friday night in which several karts were presented that did not see track time during the weekend. We are expecting our event to grow again in 2008, based on the success of our previous events, the history of our racing facility, and the increasing popularity of 'Vintage Karting'.

SRR has been a part of the karting landscape since 1959. Its founder, Don Fairman, also was the designer and builder of 'Blackhawk Karts'. Blackhawk Karts predate the start up of SRR. As this picture shows many Blackhawk brand karts were in attendance in 2006.
