We are back on the VKA schedule and will again host a 3 day vintage karting event in 2013! We call our event the 'Brodhead Historics'. Our dates are July 11th, 12th, and 13th.

We took 2012 off as we worked through two track improvement projects. Our first upgrade was in the fall of 2011 when approximately 50% of the track was paved. We finished our upgrades in the fall of 2012 by rebuilding and repaving the east end of the track. We are now excited to share our improved facilities with our vintage karting friends.

In 2012 while we were off of the VKA schedule we hosted two (2) vintage kart race events. Our vintage friends were bolted onto our regular Saturday night and Sunday race events as another class. About 20 vintage karters took part in our Saturday night event and 15 or so were on hand for our fall Sunday event. Obviously these are local vintage karters and it is nice to have this active local group. If you check out our 2013 schedule you'll see we also have two dates other than our 3 day 'Brodhead Historics' event for vintage karts.

Our first event will be on Sunday May 19th. Our second vintage race will be Sunday June 9th. The Sunday events will register at 9 AM practice at 10 AM and race at Noon. We will run the vintage karts on the same format as our regular weekly racers. That will be two rounds of practice and three 8 lap heat races. The cost will be $35 entry fee and $10 for pit passes. There won't be a steak cookout on those days but our concession stand will be up and running to stave off those hunger pains.

Vintage karters are also welcome to join us for practice weekly during the season Wednesday through Friday each week. We open at Noon each day. We'd ask that the vintage karters avoid the 5-8 PM time frame on Wednesdays because our current day karters use this as their weekly practice and the track can get very crowded. Without current day bumpers and nerf bars we don't want to endanger our vintage karters. We do practice until 7 PM on Thursdays and 5 PM on Fridays.
