500 Lapper Thoughts/Planning

• Teams must be five drivers minimum, can be more.
• $750/team. 50% payment due with reservation
• Final 50% due two weeks before race, unless paying in cash or with company check day of event.
• $20 extra charge for each driver over 5 minimum
• Race distance to be 500 laps or 6 Hours, whichever comes first.
• 41 second lead pace will get race done in 5 hours 50 minutes
• This includes up to 3 stops per 100 laps
• 15 pit stops required
• Each team must have 15 laps of > 1 minute on the score sheet at the end of the event.
• Teams can count accidents as pit stops
• The distance will require 3 fuel stops
• Teams are completely responsible for pit stop and fuel strategy.
• SRR crew will do re-fueling of karts
• Pit Stop and Refueling strategy is completely left up to the teams.
• Pit Stop Procedure:
• Teams must use pit entry/slow down lane to enter the pits.
• Failure to do so will incur a 30 second penalty.
• Once on the cement pit they must stop until a team mate reaches the kart. The team mate will walk them to assigned pit spot. After driver change, team mate will hand walk them to exit line of pit area. No pushing of karts, karts must leave under own power.
• If a driver change isn’t being made at pit stop, the driver must exit the kart from one side, walk around and re-enter from other side before being hand walked out of pits.
• When teams plan to stop for fuel them must notify SRR crew who is stationed next to pit walk through gate. He will radio gas crew.
• Team mate will meet kart and driver at pit entrance and hand walk the kart and driver to the gas stop area.
• SRR fuels kart, does safety check and oils chain. Team mate hand walks kart to pit exit line. SRR crew will release kart from fuel stop after two minutes.
• The karts will go approx. 150 laps on a tank
• Rough Driving:
• Rolled black flags will result in a stop in the penalty box for 1 minute.
• Driver must drive around track after receiving rolled black from flagman to the penalty box which will be located on the back of the starting oval.
• Team is DQ’d from event with 5^th penalty
• SRR will provide:
• 2^nd scoring monitor in garage/vending area for teams to watch.
• Lap count score board next to flag man
• Pit board for penalty box guy to post kart number
• Fueling devices and crew to perform fueling pit stops.
• Set of new tires for each kart starting the race
• Each kart will be scaled and toe in check will be done before race
